Islamabad - Germany Embassy arranged a distribution ceremony to hand over cash donations of one million rupees among various social organizations and needy people at the embassy premises on Wednesday. These donations were collected from the ‘German Christian Bazaar 2014’, an annual event organized by the German Embassy. German Ambassador Dr Cyrill Nunn handed over the donations.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Nunn said that German Embassy while following its tradition collected the donations through its annual Christian Bazaar and distributed the proceeds among the social welfare organizations serving the humanity.
He said that German Embassy would continue with its tradition of collecting donations through annual event to help the needy people. The F.C. guards deployed from Pakistan for the security of the embassy’s premises were among the various recipients. The team is living in a tent camp side on the diplomatic enclave in primitive tents, which don’t offer sufficient shelter from rain, freezing temperatures or mud. With the donations, the FC guards can purchase new tents, which will improve their living situation in a great deal.
Al-Firdous Welfare Association that is running a school started 14 years ago also received cash donation. Father’s House Society, Abbottabad, the organization headed by German citizen Nils Stilke runs a hostel/orphanage in Abbottabad also received cash donation. Mashal Model school a non-profit school was also handed over a cash donation.  
Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital (RLH) also received cash donation. SACH - Struggle for Change, a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Islamabad/Rawalpindi working for the rehabilitation of the victims of traumatic human rights abuses through a multidisciplinary approach was also handed over cash donation for its endeavours to serve the marginalized section of the society.
