LAHORE - The speakers at Hameed Nizami Press Institute of Pakistan said that lack of system led to many evils in Pakistan. The lack of participation of public is also a reason behind low progress of country.

They said this at a seminar on ‘Imperatives of bringing crisis-ridden Pakistan on the track of peace and progress’ at HNPIP Auditorium near China Chowk on Thursday. Former minister Qayyum Nizami, Dr Ijaz Butt and Mian Saifur Rehman were speakers while HNPIP director Absar Abdul Ali was the moderator.

Qayyum Nizami said that the need was to shun foreign from World band and IMF and rely on indigenous resources for progress as other developed countries did. The sanctity of the constitution would also further us in developing nations, he said. He said that the armed forces of Pakistan had been performing their role to curb out terrorism from the country.

Dr Ejaz Butt said that Pakistan faced many crises including terrorism, energy crisis. He said that true leadership was major issue that this country was lacking. He said that national issue like the Kalabagh Dam had been made a provincial issue that was tragic. He said that the need was to create harmony among political forces on the national issues.

Saifur Rehman said that many crises had been born in our minds and every citizen of the country was victim of such crises. He said that every Pakistani should play its part to forward the country in the comity of nations.
