ISLAMABAD - To bring a paradigm shift in the standard of governance and ensuring timely implementation of key development projects, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif formed Pakistan’s first Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU).
The Prime Minister was given a presentation by the PMDU team members, led by spokesman Musaddiq Malik, here at the PM House Thursday.
For the first time in the country’s history a special unit has been created in the Prime Minister’s Office comprising top flight professionals from the private sector, initially tasked by the Prime Minister to support concerned ministries in removing any bottlenecks in effective implementation of LNG related energy projects as well as in projects being planned under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Through PMDU the Prime Minister would monitor performance of ministries on a weekly basis. This will improve inter-ministerial coordination, ensuring their timely response on important public service delivery matters. The PMDU will work in close unison with concerned ministries.
