MIRPUR (AJK)-The 92st session of the Islamic Ideological Council (IIC) of Azad Jammu & Kashmir discussed and unanimously approved various acts declaring them in line with the Islamic laws.

The 8-member IIC met at the AJK Supreme Court building with Chief Justice Azam Khan in the chair. These acts include Azad Jammu & Kashmir Census Act - 1959, the AJK Act - 1975 of minimum salaries of the non-skilled workers, the AJK Act- 1963 of the recovery of public dues, AJK Act-1971 of the cancellation of the state subject certificate of Jammu & Kashmir State.

The meeting put AJK Auqaf Act 1960 and AJK Mutual-Benefit (Anjuman Imdad-e-Bahmi Act - 1967) pending to discuss in the next meeting of the AJK Ideological Council. Leading scholars representing different schools of thought including Secretary Council Syed Fida Hussain Gardezi, Secretary Law Razaq Ahmed Nadeem and members of the Council Ch Munsif Dad Advocate,  Maulana Ishaq Madni, Syed Ghulam Yasin Shah Gillani,  Maulana Imtiaz Sadeeqee, Qari Attiquur Rehman Maulana Khursheed Khan and Dr Iqbal Majadadi reviewed the aforesaid issues and accorded many of them formal approval unanimously.

Addressing the meeting, the chief justice eulogised the active role of the Islamic Ideological Council for providing due guidance to the state legislature for keeping the laws entirely in line with the Islamic teachings and laws.

The CJ said that the Secretariat of AJK Ideological Council has so far been established following the untiring efforts to streamline the issues related to the well being including incentives for the members and employees of the council.

Justice Azam Khan directed to ensure the participation of the Secretary Religious Affairs of the AJK Government in the next meeting of the council. He also advised for making the future official correspondence for the implementation of the related laws for all government departments through the Secretary Religious Affairs of the AJK government.

The session of the AJK Islamic Ideological Council expressed strong dismay over the lack of due funds for the dispensation of due facilities and remunerations for the members of the Islamic Ideological Council. The meeting decided to determine the due incentives including remunerations for members of the AJK Ideological Council at par with their counterparts in Pakistan. The meeting decided to take up the matters before the President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the Finance Department of AJK government for the due formal approval for due increase of the employees against the much-prolonged vacant positions in the Secretariat of the AJK Islamic Ideological Council in shortest possible time.

Through various unanimously passed resolutions, the session strongly condemned the increased human rights abuses and brutalities by the Indian occupying troops in Indian-Held Kashmir and the continued undeclared war by India in occupied state.

The resolution underlined that India was depriving the people of Jammu & Kashmir of their due rights of self determination since over last 69 years.

Through another unanimously passed resolution, the AJK IIC strongly supported operation Zarb-e-Azb by the valiant Pakistan Army to eliminate terrorists and terrorism from the country. The meeting hoped that the current campaign to get Pakistan rid of terrorism would be made fully successful by the law enforcement and security agencies of the country.
