LAHORE - Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Saturday were angered by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s statement against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to a private TV channel, MNA Talal Chaudhry said that Bilawal is still a kid and the party does not take his statements seriously. He also responded to PTI chief Imran Khan and Asif Ali Zardari’s alleged friendship over the fight against corruption.

PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz criticised Bilawal, saying the PPP chairman may not have talked with his father before demanding resignation of the prime minister.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah also responded to Bilawal’s speech. He stated that calling PM Nawaz, who made Pakistan a nuclear power, a friend of India showed Bilawal’s political weakness. He added that Bilawal should look towards his own home before targeting corruption.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr Asif Kirmani has said Bilawal by committing to make no corruption in future in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had admitted the wrongdoings done by his party’s present government in AJK.

Referring to Bilawal’s speech in Kotli, Dr Asif Kirmani said the PPP leader in his speech levelled allegations against rival political party but had not given any development programme for the AJK. He said that it was only the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership which thought of the people’s prosperity and had a roadmap in this regard.

He said the popularity of PML-N in Azad Kashmir had got on Bilawal’s nerves which was visible from his speech. He seemed to be frightened, Dr Kirmani said in a statement.

The special assistant said that the PML-N leadership behaved courteously, but Bilawal made personal attacks instead of giving some future plan for the prosperity of the people of Azad Kashmir. His speech could not impress the AJK people as they had rejected the politics of criticism without any reason, he added.

Kirmani further said the AJK people were dejected from the corrupt and incompetent PPP government. The upcoming elections would be an eye-opener for the PPP leadership who remained indulged in corrupt practices during its tenure rather than thinking about the welfare of the people, he added.

He said the PML-N would form the next government in AJK with the support of people.
