ISLAMABAD - The upcoming Netflix fantasy drama series Sweet Tooth will premiere on the streaming service on June 4, 2021. And ahead of its debut comes the first official trailer, which invites viewers into a lush, post-apocalyptic world consisting of hybrids — babies born part human and part animal.’ No one knew which came first, the hybrids or the virus,’ narrator Josh Brolin says in the teaser. ‘But that question would become the biggest mystery of our lifetime.’ The trailer begins with Dr. Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar) at work in the maternity ward of a hospital, seemingly startled to see the birth of the hybrids, and one in particular. The sequence of events then leads to various glimpses of the title character, Gus (Christian Convery), on the run from murderous hunters looking to track him and others down.’This is a story... about a very special boy,’ Brolin continues. ‘A boy we’d come to know... as Sweet Tooth.’ Based on a comic book of the same name by Jeff Lemire and created by Jim Mickle for Netflix, the drama is set 10 years after a deadly virus, dubbed The Great Crumble, has ‘wreaked havoc on the world and led to the mysterious emergence of hybrids.’
