Punjab gives Rs100 million

QUETTA - Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has assured the Balochistan government of maximum help for the rehabilitation of quake affectees. While addressing a press conference along with CM Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Raisani after visiting quake-hit areas of Ziarat on Friday, he said, "The people of Balochistan should not worry, as people of Punjab and provincial government will utilise all possible resources to steer Balochistan out of this critical situation". PML-N leader Zulfiqar Khosa and PML-N Balochistan chapter President Sardar Yaqoub Nasir were also present on the occasion. Shahbaz also gave a message of goodwill on behalf of people of Punjab and PML-N Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the people of Balochistan who are in trouble at this time. He lauded the relief operation and proper management of provincial government saying that the affectees have been given proper relief. However, he expressed sadness over the huge loss of precious lives and destruction. The CM Punjab presented a cheque of Rs 2 million to CM Balochistan on behalf of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and blankets of Rs 150,000. He said Punjab government had already announced 65 trucks of relief items including flour for the affectees while 14 trucks had reached the affected areas and more relief goods would also be sent including another Rs 100 million cash. Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani thanked Mian Shahbaz for visiting the affected areas and urged the people of other provinces to play their role in this regard. On a query about slow pace of relief operation in affected areas, Raisani said the provincial government was trying its level best to provide relief to the people of far-flung areas both through road and helicopters.
