LAHORE - Argentinean Ambassador Rudolf O.J. Martin and Norwegian Ambassador, Robert Kvile called on Vice Chairman of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Pir Saad Ahsanuddin to discuss investment opportunities in Punjab and to define specific projects of interest to their respective countries. Argentinean Ambassador Rudolf O.J. Martin has had an earlier meeting with the Chief Minister Punjab and as a follow up has identified with Pir Saad areas of further collaboration and advancement, among which is the plan for the Chief Minister Punjab and a sector-specific delegation to visit Argentina early next year. Among the few areas of focus were to start a vertically integrated meat-processing project with Argentinean collaboration in Punjab to support the halal meat industry, which is a priority area for the Punjab government. There was also an emphasis on improving Pakistans livestock expertise. Norwegian Ambassador, Robert Kvile also had a very fruitful visit where the discussion centered upon key areas in which Punjab can gain from bilateral trade and investment opportunities with Norway, such as technical education and potential investments in the energy sectors. The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) has taken a proactive role in liaising with all foreign missions in Pakistan and appraising them with key information about investment projects in Punjab.
