KARACHI - An alleged sodomite was killed by an angry mob in City on Saturday, while two people were killed in other separate incidents. In the first incident, an elderly sodomite was condemned to death at the hands of angry mob within the jurisdiction of Shah Latif police station. According to the area police, the man was killed when he was allegedly found indulged in homosexuality at Pir Sarhandi Goth on the wee hours of Saturday. Police officials said that 60-year-old M Hashim Jhokio, son of Mehran was sodomite and was killed by unidentified men while he was asleep outside his home. The deceased was a watchman by profession and used to live separately in the village. The police said that a group of enraged people raided the place where he was busy in his usual activity with another man, so the mob killed him by beating with clubs and rods. In another incident, a security guard of a private company committed suicide on Saturday after feeling dejected over getting sacked from his job in the limits of Bahadurabad Police Station. Police said the victim Syed Maqsood Ali Shah, 28, son of Syed Mustafa Shah was deployed at house no 265 at Bahadurabad. He shot himself in chest and died on the spot. The victim was the resident of Garden East. The cause of the suicide could not be ascertained. Police said the deceased was a married man and could have committed suicide over financial problems. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for autopsy. In another incident, a baby girl was killed while her father got injured in a road mishap within the limitations of the Mithadar Police Station. The incident took place when a speedy car on II Chundrigar Road hit their motorcycle; resultantly the minor girl died on the spot and her father Aamir sustained injuries. The Mithadar Police said the identity of the car driver could not be ascertained who himself shifted the injured girl and his father to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) and then disappeared.
