Man held for resisting security checks

ISLAMABAD - Islamabad police on Friday arrested a suspected person from the premises of F-8 district court after he offered stiff resistance to the security personnel when they tried to frisk him.
Sources told this scribe that a person, aged between 35-40 and wearing a dress partially similar to that of a lawyer, was stopped at a walkthrough gate of the district court by the security personnel on duty around 09:30am. The person offered stiff resistance to the police officials when they tried to frisk him which prompted the latter to physically engage with him. Nothing objectionable was recovered from the suspected person on the occasion but he was beaten black and blue by some 8-9 police officials and handcuffed before he was bundled into a private car, the sources said.
The police later shifted the suspected person to some unknown place.
When contacted, police officials of Margalla police station said that the person was mentally retarded and added police recovered nothing objectionable from his custody. “Rather, he was a clerk with some lawyer at the court,” they added.
No one from the lawyers’ community came to rescue the suspected person at time of brawl with the security personnel.
