WASHINGTON- The US State Department has approved sale of eight global response cutters to Pakistan for coastal security.

According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the deal includes sale of naval gun systems, machineguns, rigid inflatable boats, and other necessary equipment and training of Pakistan Navy personnel.

The total estimated cost of the sale is 350 million dollars. This sale will enhance Pakistan's ability to enforce the rule of law over its coastal areas to safeguard seaborne energy corridors, deter the outbreak of piracy and check trafficking of narcotics and other illicit goods.
