Rwalpindi - A meeting was held here at Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Friday to make Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus route clean and green.

The meeting was co-chaired by PML-N stalwart Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and Commissioner Rawalpindi/Director General (DG) RDA Capt (Retd) Zahid Saeed. Former MPA Ziaullah Shah, director engineering RDA, Managing Director Parks and Horticulture Authority Akram Soban, Director Admin & Finance RDA Afzal Nadeem, senior officers from CDA and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

Mustafa Kamal (consultant) gave a conceptual presentation on the horticulture and environmental aspects of the project.

It was decided in the meeting that areas along metro bus route will be made green with hanging planters, plants and flowers. In empty areas green belts will be made.

DG RDA Capt (Retd) Zahid Saeed asked the consultants to prepare a definite plan in this regard.

He said pavers, sitting areas and food kiosks should also be made.

Abbasi suggested that design of landscaping and planters should be different from station to station in order to make the corridors more beautiful. The consultant would make a final presentation on the plans and designs on 15th November 2014.
