Baba Guru Nanak University approved

LAHORE - Participants of the Evacuee Trust Property Board’s meeting yesterday approved the construction of Guru Nanak International University. A ground breaking ceremony will be held in January next year.

The 306th meeting of ETPB’s Board was presided over by chairman Siddiqul Farooq.

The board members from across the four provinces participated in the meeting. Briefing the media men, Farooq said that those occupying the land of proposed university for agricultural purpose would be given alternative land in Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib. A letter in this regard would be written to federal government soon.

Siddiqul Farooq said that for construction and running of administrative issues letter would be written to Vice Chancellor Karachi University and VC Sindh University.

The meeting also approved financial aid to Janki Devi Trust hospital. The participants were informed that next meeting of the board would be held on November 18.

Another meeting of the board would be held today, in connection with Baba Guru Nanak’s birthday.

The meeting would be presided over by the ETPB chairman and attended by DCOs, DPOs of districts concerned and Rangers officers.
