GUJRANWALA-The tall claims regarding better law and order situation in the district turned out to be a mockery as a number of people were deprived of valuables including cash, gold ornaments, cellphones and bikes in 16 robbery incidents occurred in different areas over the past 48 hours.
According to police, robbers intercepted a citizen Waseem and his wife and snatched Rs10,000, gold ornaments and cellphone in People’s Colony while in Civil Lines area, armed men barged into a shop owned by Amir and looted Rs20,000 and different valuables. In the remit of Saddr Police, a citizen namely Raja was deprived of a motorcycle, Rs5,000 and two cellphones while in Qila Didar Singh, bandits looted Rs17,000 and cellphone from an unidentified person. In Tatle Wali, dacoits looted Rs35,000 and two cellphones from Munawar, Rs20,000 and a cellphone from Yasir while in Alipur Chattha, armed men snatched Rs25,000 and three cellphones from Akhtar.
In Ghakkar, bandits snatched Rs25,000 and two cellphones from Ismail while in Wazirabad Saddr, a citizen namely Sunny was deprived of Rs10,000, an applied for motorcycle and two cellphones. In the remit of Sabzi Mandi Police, robbers looted Rs25,000 and a cellphone from Waqas and in Ladhewala Warriach, dacoits looted Rs10,000 and a cellphone from Rizwan.
Meanwhile, unidentified thieves stole cash, gold ornaments, laptops, LCDs and other valuables from three houses owned by Manzoor, Khalil and Aslam. Similarly, three applied for motorcycles owned by Abdul Rashid, Mushtaq and Moazzam were lifted from different places of the city.
