LAHORE - Senior PPP leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsen Monday said the PML-N government had separated Punjab from the federation by denying entry to the PTI caravans at the Punjab-KP border.  The Punjab police yesterday stopped the PTI activists from entering Punjab by throwing tear gas shells at them. This happened at the Attock Bridge on the Indus River which serves as a border between the two provinces. Talking to a news channel, Aitzaz termed it a serious blow on the federation by the Sharifs whom he accused of indulging in such practices in the past also. He said that a situation was created in which it looked like as if it was an international border. Had the police stopped the protestors inside Punjab the impact would have been different, he added.  Aitzaz said that people of Punjab were very hospitable and welcoming but present rulers were bent upon isolating this province from rest of the federating units.  He recalled days of the late 1980’s, when Nawaz Sharif would not receive then PM Benazir Bhutto whenever she visited Punjab.
