Pakistan summons Indian diplomat over ceasefire violation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday lodged protest with India over the ceasefire violations at the Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces.

Foreign Office’s Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh on Tuesday here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and lodged protest.

Pakistan strongly condemns the unprovoked ceasefire violations on October 31 by Indian Forces along the LoC in Nikial and Jandrot sectors, which resulted in deathsof 6 civilians, including a woman and injuries to eight civilians, including 2 women, the FO said in a statement.

Dr Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Agreement; investigate the continued incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the Working Boundary and the LoC.
