JS Global hosts investment conference in US


KARACHI (PR): JS Global Capital Limited (JSGCL), Pakistan’s largest and premier brokerage and investment banking firm, is hosting Pakistan Investment Conference in New York, United States. This follows JSGCL’s successful investment conference held earlier this year in London, which supported Pakistan in achieving the emerging market status by Morgan Stanley Capital International.

The objective of the Pakistan Investment Conference is to pitch Pakistan as one of the most attractive investment destinations amongst the emerging markets class. JS Global has made arrangements for the chief executives/chief financial officers of 15 leading listed companies to attend the Pakistan Investment Conference and showcase their companies’ profile, performance and future plans to major US investors for both foreign portfolio and direct investment by the US investors.

A high powered delegation led by Mohammad Zubair, Governor of Sindh, which includes Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman Parliamentary Committee on CPEC, alongside Muneer Kamal, Chairman Pakistan Stock Exchange, and Kamran Nasir, CEO JS Global Capital Limited, has arrived in New York. They inaugurated the Pakistan Investment Conference on October 31 in the heart of Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange.

These Pakistani corporations make up most of the MSCI Emerging Markets cluster while representing about 90% of the market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Foreign investors currently hold interest in about 30% of the free float of PSX. The conference will be a four day event with two days in New York followed by events in Boston, Chicago and Washington.


SSGC presents cheques to CSR partners

KARACHI (PR): SSGC reaffirmed its commitment to serve the marginalized communities by presenting cheques to more than 20 collaborative partners in CSR initiatives for FY 2016-17, in a special ceremony held at the company’s head office the other day. Representatives of CSR partner organizations received cheques from Amin Rajput, MD, SSGC. The ceremony also featured short videos prepared in-house by SSGC’s Corporate Communications team that emphasized on collaboration between the company and each of the partner organizations.

The ceremony was marked by SSGC’s befitting tribute to the late founder of Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC). MALC’s CEO Dr Mervn Lobo, Senior Manager Dr Mutahir Zia, Archbishop of Karachi Joseph Coutts, social worker Sarim Burney, Yoga expert Yogi Wajahat, Imran Noor (PPL), TV anchor Nusrat Haris, Shahbaz Islam, Head of Corporate Communications, SSGC and Amin Rajput, MD, SSGC paid glowing tributes to the selflessness and devotion of Dr Pfau for the humanity.

 The visiting guests lauded SSGC’s CSR driven efforts in the areas of education, health, environment and community development.  A short documentary that  paid tribute to the ‘light to the lepers’ Dr. Ruth Pfau, scripted and developed by SSGC’s Corporate Communications team, was screened at the ceremony.


P&G, UN Women partner


KARACHI (PR): Procter & Gamble (P&G) has partnered with UN Women to contribute towards the economic empowerment of women in Pakistan. The initiative includes supporting women entrepreneurship and gender-responsive procurement in the country. The partnership was announced after a meeting between Jamshed M. Kazi, UN Women Country Representative for Pakistan, and Sami Ahmed, Vice President P&G Pakistan, at the P&G general office in Karachi.

This partnership stems from P&G’s commitment to gender equality which is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5 – to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. The initiative will help marginalized but enterprising women in Sialkot district to start small-scale business ventures. Around 50 women will receive training and skills development, emerging as self-supporting individuals and equal partners of mainstream life on a gender-responsive basis.


The Educators event

FAISALABAD (PR): The Educators Faisalabad Region hosted its high achievers ceremony at a local hotel the other day.

The ceremony started with the formal welcome note by Regional Manager Faisalabad Rass Masood. Students from Faisalabad region were invited and received awards for academic brilliance in their matriculation (IX and X).

Four board position holders were acknowledged with the awards, certificates at the ceremony, which was attended by more than 250 people including school heads, teachers and Network associates.

The student of class 9th, who secured 3rd position in Faisalabad board, was awarded with a laptop.

Chairman board Faisalabad Ghulam Muhammad was the chief guest. The project director of The Educators Shahid Saeed Butt and GM Sales and Business Development Ayyaz Ali Khan were distinguished guests.
