Islamabad - The Mayor Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority, Sheikh Anser Aziz on Tuesday visited the Diplomatic Shuttle Services and expressed dissatisfaction over the poor arrangements.

He was upset over the state of cleanliness, standard of canteen, presence of wild bushes and different other facilities being provided by the coordinator.

On this occasion, the Director-General (Environment), Director Municipal Administration, Director Roads, Director (Sanitation), Director Public Relations and other senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) were also present. Anser directed the concerned formations to ensure provision of all facilities as per spirit of the contract agreement.  He said that people from across the country daily avail the Diplomatic Shuttle Service; therefore, provision of state-of-the-art services at the site must be ensured.  He directed to remove wild bushes and grass from the vicinity and improve over all cleanliness of the site.

While directing the contractor to improve conditions of the canteen, he said that staff of the concerned formation of CDA and MCI will be directed to check the quality of food and hygienic conditions at the canteen.

He said that a large number of people avail this service to approach the embassies and other offices located in the Diplomatic Enclave, therefore, its standard must be up to the mark so that people could be facilitated in a better way.

On this occasion, the mayor was informed that at Diplomatic Shuttle Services, a number of facilities are being provided to the people.

These services included car parking, baggage holding area for oversized bags, documents checks prior to issuing ticket for visiting embassies, computerized ticketing, economy and executive transport service including latest model air-condition coaches for economy class, latest model sedan cars for executive class, dedicated air-conditioned hall for executive class, free Internet service in executive hall, cafeteria with full breakfast and lunch facilities, washroom and praying facilities.

It was further told that surveillance cameras have also been installed which work 24 hours. The mayor also inspected the vehicles and met the people availing this facility and inquired about their problems and passed directions to resolve the problems immediately.
