KHANEWAL-Citizen Park was reopened in Peoples Colony’s Y-Block after its renovation and upgradation.

Providing health, education and recreational facilities were the top priorities of the government, a ruling party lawmaker said.

The government is spending billions of rupees on the provision of recreational facilities in the country, said MPA Nishat Ahmad Daha.

He highly appreciated the efforts of the Citizen’s Forum and its members for beatification of and plantation in the park and other prominent places of the city.

It is impossible for the government to give 100% results without the association of the residents, he said. He added that with an amount of 75 million rupees, the government was establishing a lake and a modern park on several acres of land for the residents of the PP-214 Khanewal. He said the park would be as per standard of big cities like Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. It would be made functional within next few months, he said.

Speaking at the function, Citizen’s Forum President Yousaf Sumra briefed the gathering about its role. He appreciated the residents of the area for their financial contribution and devotion to the development of the park.
