KAMALIA - Acting Deputy Commissioner Kashif Muhammad Ali urged the trading community to ensure the provision of quality foodstuffs at bazaars on subsidised rates. Addressing a joint meeting of District Price Control Magistrates Committee and District Emergency Board here, he advised the traders to earn only due profit and help the government curb inflation.

The acting deputy commissioner said that Halal earning is part of the religion. He said Islam teaches its followers to sell quality commodities and do not fleece consumers. Besides, it is also an ethical duty. “So, the traders should adhere to both, the Islamic teachings and ethics,” he pointed out. It would lead them to success in this life and hereafter, he added. He warned that hoarding and overcharging of daily-use items would not be tolerated. He vowed to deal sternly with hoarders and those, found guilty of fleecing consumers. The acting DC directed the officers of the Price Control Magistrates Committee and the District Emergency Board to ensure implementation of the government orders concerning subsidy on daily-use items. He also ordered to remove encroachments on the roads, squares and markets in Toba district. He urged the traders and shopkeepers to cooperate with the administration in this regard.

District Officer (monitoring) Kashif Nawaz Malik, Gojra AC Asif Ali Dogar, Kamalia AC Hafiz Najeeb, DSP (headquarters) Mehmood Haroon, DO (industries) Mian Irfan, District Officer (emergency) Mian Faraz Munir and other officers attended the meeting.
