OUR STAFF REPORTER KHANEWAL - District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rashid Mehmood said Friday that anti-dengue drive would be started from October 1 (today) in all the four tehsils of Khanewal. While talking to the media, the DCO urged people, especially educated class, to come forward for this national cause and help the district government in eradication of this epidemic. He said the district government had formed committees at village and Union Council level, and village numberdar, Lady Heath Workers, nutrition supervisors, sanitary inspector and two volunteers from each village had also been included in the committees. DCO Rashid Mehmood informed the newsmen that the district government had started training session for the volunteers of each village and one of them would be trained for fumigation and other for anti-mosquito spray. He further said that fumigation and spray machines had been provided in each Union Council, and fumigation in every village would be completed before winter season. He added that about 550 beds had been reserved for dengue patients in the districts BHU, THQ and DHQ hospitals.
