Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif declared that Pakistan Army was fully prepared to deter and defeat any form of aggression across the entire spectrum of threat.

He made these remarks during his visit to Kharian for earth breaking ceremony of upcoming National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) on Tuesday.

The Army Chief said with its unique accomplishment of confronting both conventional and sub-conventional threats, Pakistan Army was respected for its achievements and sacrifices the world over.

He said that NCTC would be a state-of-the-art facility with large capacity to impart quality training to troops for combating terrorism in all kinds of terrain.

He said that since they would have to fight the menace of terror together with other Law Enforcement Agencies across the nook and corner of the country, Army would do its part to train para-military force, police, constabulary and levies at this facility. NCTC Pabbi will not only play an important role for training of own troops, it also will cater for the growing demand for training requests from other friendly armies as well.

Later, the Army Chief visited the troops under going counter terrorism training exercises, and appreciated the standards achieved. He also paid glowing tribute to the troops participating in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb for successes achieved so far.
