LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif yesterday hosted a unique lunch at his 90-Shahrah-e-Quaide-e-Azam secretariat on the eve of national day of China.

It was unusual in the sense that officially it was a “lunch hosted by the Chief Minister Punjab”, but the food for his guests came from the Chinese Consulate. Fresh green salad and Szechuan Prawns, however, arrived from the chief minister house whereas other main items on the menu list were served by the Chinese.

This rare arrangement left many of the guests in bewilderment who wanted to know as to who actually was playing as the host on the occasion. The chief minister or the Chinese Consulate. Here is the list of Chinese dishes which came from the Chinese Consulate.

Chinese Dumplings, Marinated Chicken, Steamed Lamb Chops with Garlic and Steamed Bean Bun. Others local dishes also served by the consulate included Chicken Seekh Kabab, Chicked Qorma and Mutton Pullao. The desert included Hot Gulan Jamon, Kheer, Ras Gulla, Sheer Khorma, Firini in Thoothi, Shahi Tukra besides Green Tea and Coffee.
