Anas, Maryam win boys, girls U-19 titles in PSF Junior Squash Circuit-3

LAHORE - Anas Ali of Punjab and Maryam Malik of Pakistan Army clinched the boys and girls U-19 titles in the PSF Junior Squash Circuit-3 that concluded at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad on Friday. 
In the boys U-19 final, Anas Ali played well against M Ammad of PAF and outpaced him 3-1. Anas won the first game 11/8 and clinched the second one with the same margin of 11/8 before losing the third one 7/11. Anas then showed his class and played aggressive game to win the decisive game 11/6. 
In the girls U-19 final, Maryam Malik edged out Meshwish Ali of Sindh by 3-2. Maryam won the first game 11/5 but Mehwish made a good comeback by winning the second game 9/11. Maryam then played superb squash and took the game 11/3 but lost the fourth one 9/11 before winning the decisive game 14/12. After winning the match, Maryam thanked her coach Naveed Alam saying it was due to her coach’s guidance and training that she is excelling at national level and she is keen to win more titles. 
In the boys U-17 final, Abdullah Nawaz (PAF) beat Huraira Khan (PAF) 11/9, 8/11, 11/7, 11/9 (3-1), in the boys U-15 final, Azan Ali (Army) beat Mubeen Khan (PAF) 11/3, 11/8, 11/6 (3-1), in the boys U-13 final, Noman Khan (PAF) beat Ahmed Khalil (PAF) 4/11, 11/8, 11/3, 11/6 (3-1) and in the boys U-11 final, Mamoon Khan (PAF) beat Faizan Ali (PB) 2/11, 11/3, 6/11, 11/8, 11/9 (3-2).
As part of Juniors’ Development Programme& Talent Hunt at grassroots level, Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) organized PSF Junior Squash Circuit-3 at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad between Sep 26-30. The tournament included boys U-11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and girls U-19 age categories. 
Senator Prince Agha Omer graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and distributed trophies among the winners. PSF Vice President Qamar Zaman also attended the ceremony along with a number of players and squash lovers.
