LAHORE - Senior central leader of PML-Q Pervaiz Elahi has said that had Shahbaz government not emptied the treasury on ill conceived and fickle schemes in the past two and a half years, Punjab would not have been seen holding a 'begging bowl today. Talking to the media outside the residence of a private TV cameraman late Faisal Khan, he said, There are Rs76 billion in cash when we left the government in 2007 but today the situation is opposite as Punjab is under a huge debt of Rs100 billion and there is no money in the provincial kitty. He claimed that at present millions of starved, homeless and helpless flood victims had been left unattended by the rulers. With the festival of Eid fast approaching the Punjab government had hardly done anything to alleviate the miseries of these unfortunate Pakistanis. He claimed that Shahbaz Sharif had kept 18 provincial ministries for himself and rarely held cabinet meetings. He warned that the day was not far when the poor flood victims would take the Sharif brothers to task for their criminal negligence and callousness in genuinely addressing their problems.
