LAHORE Efforts are underway to trace the whereabouts of a terror suspect who jumped into the BRB Canal to avoid arrest following the Pakistan Rangers officials signaled him to stop for checking late on Monday night in Batapur area. Police sources said that the man jumped into the canal to avoid arrest and has not been traced thus far. However, the security officials found his shirt from the canal water. They also recovered maps of sensitive localities from his shirt and suspected that he could be a terror suspect, who managed to infiltrate inside Pakistan through Indian border. The Batapur police have reported the incident and are investigating. Factory worker found murdered At least four people were killed in as many incidents here in different parts of the Punjab Capital on Tuesday, police sources said. A 25-year-old factory worker was found murdered with multiple bullet wounds from the fields in Shahdra police area on early Tuesday, police said. Police investigators said that the man later identified as Munir Ahmed was lying dead in pool of blood alongside the bushes in the fields near Aziz Town as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted his dead body and disclosed the happening to the police emergency (Rescue 15) by phone, investigators added. All his belongings including mobile phone and purse were missing, a source close to the investigators said adding, the possibility of robbery-cum-murder could not be ruled out in this incident. Investigators believed that unidentified killers shot him dead and fled away after throwing his body in the fields. Resident of Aziz Town Munir Ahmed was working at a factory located in Shafiqabad area a labourer. He left the factory after completing his daily work but did not reach home. The police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. In another incident, a 35-year-old man was crushed to death by a rashly driven vehicle in Raiwind police area on Tuesday. The police said that the man, yet to be identified so far, was crossing the road when a recklessly driven hit him, resulting in his on-the-spot death. The driver along with the driven managed to escape from the scene. The police are investigating. A 25-year-old unidentified man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from Shafiqabad area on Tuesday morning, police said. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating. Similarly, another unidentified man, 28, was found dead lying alongside a road in Shahdra area on Tuesday, police said. The police have removed body of the man, unidentified so far, to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.
