LAHORE - On the direction of the Chief Minister Punjab, Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning and Development Tanvir Ashraf Kaira Tuesday visited various flood effected areas of Muzaffargarh and Kot Addu and reviewed the relief activities in effected areas. He said that rehabilitation of the flood affectees was a great challenge. The minister directed the district administration and authorities concerned to expedite the relief and rehabilitation operation and to provide healthcare facilities to the affected people on priority basis. He also visited various relief camps established by the provincial government and enquired about the problems as well as relief activities from the affectees. On this occasion, he said that to provide immediate relief to affected people was our top priority and this was the high time to help them without playing politics. Government is trying hard for the provision of basic necessities to the affected people on war footings. Rehabilitation of affected people is a great challenge and international community should stand with Pakistan in this time of trial, he added. Kaira said that the government would cut its expenditures to provide relief to the affected people. He appealed to the nation to give Fitrana to the affected people. He said that government would give cash amount to the affected families before Eid and this time Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated with simplicity.
