LAHORE - Federal and provincial governments are befooling the masses by giving statements on the flood relief efforts as only NGOs like Al-Khidmat Foundation, Jamat-e-Islami and others are helping flood-affected farmers. These views were expressed by Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) chief Sardar Zafar Hussain while talking to flood-affected farmers and locals of the district Mianwali. Addressing the farmers, the KBP chief said the recent devastations on account of floods could be avoided if Kalabagh Dam was constructed. He said government should construct Kalabagh Dam forthwith and the rulers should bring their money back for helping out the flood-affected people. He demanded that a 'commission comprising judiciary members should be made to distribute the foreign aids amongst the flood affectees in a transparent manner. He demanded the government to provide free of cost electricity, seeds and fertilizers to the farmers otherwise the countrys agriculture would be changed into barren.
