LAHORE PML-N Senator Pervaiz Rasheed has sent a State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) report for the year 2000-01 to Muttahida Qaumi Movement Quaid Altaf Hussain and Federal Law Minister Babar Awan which contains all details of the accounts of 'Qarz Utaro Mulk Sanwaro scheme on pages 127 and 128. According to the SBP report all the money collected under the scheme was deposited in the national exchequer and used for the purpose for which it was collected. In the letter addressed to Altaf Hussain enclosed with the SBP report, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed stated that as he (Altaf) might not have been able to study the SBP report due to his political engagements, therefore, the document was being sent to him with all details of the money collected under the scheme. He said that this report made it clear that all the donations collected under the scheme were deposited in the SBP account and not in the personal account of any individual. He said that the report was also available on the website of State Bank of Pakistan (www.sbp.org.pk). Pervaiz Rasheed said he was sending the relevant chapter of the aforementioned report to Altaf Hussain where all the facts and figures were available at pages 127 & 128. He expressed the hope that these details would help the MQM Chief in issuing his statements on the basis of facts and figures in future. Similarly, in a letter sent to Federal Law Minister Babar Awan with the report of SBP, Pervaiz Rashid said that the statements of Babar Awan , referring to 'Qarz Utaro Scheme, had been appearing in the Press regularly in the recent past. He said that it not only showed his serious attitude towards national issues, but also reflected his concern about the use of public money. The Senator further said that he knew that besides his official responsibilities Babar Awan also had to go to different bar rooms due to which he might not have had the time to go through the report. Therefore, he said, the report was being sent to him which contained all details about Qarz Utaro scheme. He expressed the hope that after studying the report Babar Awan would refrain from distorting the fact in future and perform his responsibility of conveying the truth to the people more efficiently.
