LAHORE  - Old Ravian industrialists have donated rupees four million to the Government College University Endowment Fund Trust (GCU-EFT) for the fee of deserving students. Eminent Old Ravian Khawar Masood Butt donated Rs2 million while Mian Misbah-ur-Rahman and Javiad Habib Oberia donated Rs1m each to the endowment fund.
GCU-EFT Executive Committee Secretary Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt handed over the donation cheques to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman at a graceful ceremony at the university.
The vice chancellor expressed pleasure on the donations and announced initiating four golden scholarships from them. “The scholarships will be given to deserving students on merit every year,” he added.
entry test postponed
The Punjab University has postponed entry test to be held on Wednesday September 3, 2014 for admission to PhD in Law. New date for entry test will be announced. PU spokesman has said that entry tests for admissions to M Phil and PhD in various disciplines to be held on September 1 and September 2.
 will be held as per schedule. However, those candidates, who are unable to take their entry test examination due to prevailing circumstances, will be given an opportunity and their entry test will be held later.
