ISLAMABAD: The government has slightly slashed the prices of petroleum products for the month of September.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance, the new prices of per litre petrol would be Rs106.56 after the reduction of Rs1.41. High-speed diesel will be sold at Rs108.34 after a reduction of Rs1.00. Hi-octane, kerosene and light diesel will be sold for Rs133.01, Rs96.99, and Rs92.08, after the reduction of Rs162, Rs. 06, and Rs1.19, respectively.
The govt has claimed that had not the rupee value depreciated during the month of August, due to ongoing political situation, the POL prices would have further reduced. The new prices would be applicable from Sept 1 (today).
