ANF recovers 5.18 tons of drugs; 11 held

RAWALPINDI - The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 5.18 tons of drugs while conducting various operations against the drug mafia in different parts of the country.
During operations, the ANF also held 11 smugglers, including two lady smugglers, and impounded two vehicles, informed ANF spokesman Samiullah Khan here yesterday. The value of seized drugs is Rs 12.48 billion in the international market, he added.
According to him, ANF launched 11 operations against the drug mafia in Jhelum, Islamabad, Khushab, Lahore, Kohat, Peshawar Karachi and in Balochistan cities and recovered 5.17 tons hashish, 10-kg heroin and 3-kg opium. Separate cases have been registered against the smugglers with ANF police stations concerned and investigation was underway, he informed.
