ISLAMABAD - Dysfunctional streetlight of sector G-8, G-9 and G-6 of the federal capital have become security risk for the residents.
Residents of Sector G-8 of Islamabad said while talking to APP, that streetlight of the area have gone out of order for the last few months but despite repeated reminders, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has paid no heed to repair the streetlight due to which a sense of insecurity and uncertainty prevails in the area.
They claimed that movement of suspicious persons and criminals have increased who often taking advantage of darkness commit robberies besides snatching mobile phones and valuables from the people.
The residents of the sector said that they fear to go out or send their children out after night prayers due to darkness in the streets and presence of criminals in the area who were looking for an `opportunity’.
Residents demanded of the chairman Capital Development Authority Maroof Afzal for taking notice of the situation and direct for replacing or repairing the faulty streetlight as soon as possible.
