Qavi welfare society supports 20 deserving brides

MULTAN (APP): Qavi Khan Welfare Society, a non-governmental organisation, provided dowry items to 20 deserving girls who got married during a mass wedding at Multan Arts Council the other night. The welfare society has been named after noted TV artiste Muhammad Qavi Khan. The NGO offers dowry articles to poor families every year, said general secretary of Qavi Khan welfare society, Ashar Hassan while talking to this agency. He informed that every bride was given basic household items worth Rs60,000. Mr Qavi Khan, who was chief guest at the ceremony, stated that he had initiated the welfare work in 1992 in Multan. He expressed pleasure that the society had supported 524 brides so far.
Qavi Khan informed that the welfare society was being run by 25 persons who managed the philanthropic events on self-help basis. The noted artist appreciated cooperation of his friends for the noble cause.
