Islamabad - The PTI government in its first-ever determination of oil prices announced reduction in the rates of major petroleum products for the month of September and reduced High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 6.37 per litre and Petrol (MS 97 RON) by Rs 2.41 per litre.
As per the notification issued by finance division on the recommendation of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the Prime Minister of Pakistan has approved the changes in the prices of petroleum products. As per the notification the prices of three petroleum products including HSD, Petrol and Super Kerosene Oil was reduced while the prices of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) was increased.
As per the notification the prices of HSD was reduced by Rs 6.37 per litre or 5.6 percent. After the reduction the price of Diesel will be reduced from the current Rs 112.94 per litre to Rs 106.57 per litre.
The price of Petrol (MS 97 RON) price was reduced by Rs 2.41 per litre or 2.5 percent. After the reduction the petrol price will come down to Rs 92.83 from the existing 95.24 per litre.
Super Kerosene Oil was reduced by Rs 0.46 per litre or 0.55 percent .The price of Super Kerosene Oil (SKO) will reduce to Rs 83.50 per litre from Rs 83.96 per litre. The price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) was increased by Rs 0.59 per litre or 0.78 percent. With the increase the price of LDO will increase to Rs 75.96 from the current Rs 75.37 per litre.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Caretaker government had rejected the Ogra summary for making up to Rs4 per litre increase in the prices of various petroleum products had decided to maintain the prices of petroleum products at the existing level during the month of August 2018.
