Pro-Pakistani Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani has died in Srinagar after a prolonged illness, Kashmiri media has confirmed.
He was 91 years old.
Detained JKLF's leader wife Mushaal Hussein Mullick expressed grief over the sad demise of Syed Ali Geelani. Taking to Twitter, she wrote "Shocked and saddened on the death of #SyedAliGillani. I wish he would have seen the face of free Kashmir. But his life struggle is a model for us to stand firm against oppression and occupational forces."

Syed Ali Geelani was born in the town Sopore Baramulla, North Kashmir, on 29 September 1929.
He was a pro-Pakistani Kashmiri separatist leader in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He was previously a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir but later on founded Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.
