ISLAMABAD – Since the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) still could not evolve consensus on the issue of Nato supplies restoration due to some reservations from opposition parties, the PPP’s coalition partners might also conditionally support the government for passing a final resolution in the joint sitting of the parliament.

“Muttahida might conditionally support PPP government on this issue, as it might link restoration of Nato supplies with the release of Dr. Afia Siddiqui and apology of US for the Salala check post incident,” sources in MQM shared this with TheNation.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain has reportedly viewed that Pakistani establishment and the current rulers should have courage and inform the nation about the real facts on the NATO supplies and the drone strikes. He advised them not to mislead the nation by dragging them in different complexities.

It is relevant to mention here that joint sitting of the parliament after its two days debate on the recommendations of Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) will meet again on April 5 (Thursday), as currently the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) is once again discussing different clauses of the document.

The committee members from opposition benches in their reservation have reportedly linked the Nato supply restoration to immediate cessation of the drone attacks and putting a condition that only food items and medicines shipment through Pakistan would be allowed. It would not be out of place to mention here that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazalur Rahman, taking a bold stance, has made it clear, on the floor of the house, that they would not allow restoration of Nato supply at any cost.
