Petrol price hike burdens common man


Ferozwala - The Federal government on Sunday threw a price hike bomb on common people after making a drastic increase in petroleum products and in combined natural gas (CNG) prices.
The public transporters in Sheikhupura and Nankana district have automatically raised the fare up by 10% on every route. Similarly, the price of all edible things has gone beyond common man’s reach. This was stated by the president Citizen Welfare Society G.R Shahbaz while talking to journalists at press club here on Sunday. He said due to 16 to 18 hours electricity load shedding thousands of factories have stopped functioning and as such scores of labourers have lost their jobs. The Punjab labourer president Rana Usman on this occasion demanded the president and prime minister to intervene into the matter and with draw the increase in the prices of petroleum products and CNG forthwith. He advised them to curtail their personal expenses instead of throwing such crippling and devastating price hikes. The president warned them to with draw the increase within 3 days, otherwise labourers will go on a long march to Islamabad
Women and two teenaged daughters abducted: Mangtanwala police registered a case on Sunday, against three accused allegedly involved in abduction of a woman Mafia and her two teenaged daughters. They also stole valuables worth thousands. The complainant Abdul Jabbar, resident of More Khunda approached the police that Ishfaq, Ali, Imran and Naveed had barged into his house during his absence and abducted his wife and daughters and took cash and ornaments worth thousands. The police attribute the Incident as an old enmity.
