ISLAMABAD – The central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Sunday promised the establishment of a state-of-the-art university to cater the needs of talented students especially those hailing from the rural areas of the federal capital.

“If the PML-N voted to power, a university would be established especially for the students of rural areas of Islamabad. For that I am ready to donate my ancestral land in the area,” he announced while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony at Ibn-Ul-Haysum School of Excellence here. He also apprised the people that his negotiations are underway with the management of Allama Iqbal Open University for setting up its campus at Bhara Kahu.

He said that despite lack of resources, the educational institutions of rural areas as Ibn-ul-Haysum School have been playing a pivotal role in imparting quality education. “Students of the school have up with flying colours both in their curricular and extracurricular activities. After hearing their speeches, I can say that institutions of the rural areas are not behind those established in the city,” he observed.

On the occasion, Montessori students performed colourful tableaus, skits, and mime show followed by declamation contests. The speeches were followed by prize distribution ceremony and a stage show in which young talented students of the school exhibited their extracurricular skills, leaving a message of love for their homeland.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ibn-ul-Haysum, Farzana Mahmood, said that the children of Bhara Kahu are talented and could play an important role for the welfare of this area as well as for the country.
