LAHORE  – The country keeps reeling from an acute power crisis and despite tall announcements and claims by the government power shortfall remains a high at 5,000 megawatt.

The power demand in the country is 14,000 mega watts but the supply is below at just 9,000mw.

There is as much as 12-hour loadshedding in the big cities while smaller cities are facing from as much 14-18 hours unannounced loadshedding.

Furnace oil in required quantity is not being supplied by the government to the power producers that’s why power generation in decreasing.

Meanwhile, hydel power generation is also quite low due to negligible trickle of water at dams.
