Power shortfall reaches 6000 MW

Power crisis became worst in the country as Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) officials on Monday said that electricity short fall in Pakistan has reached up to 6000 megawatt.
According to PEPCO officials the shortfall increased due to the inadequate supply of money and oil to the company.
Sources said that PEPCO needs 35000 ton Furnace oil on daily basis in order to run its operations.
While on the other side Lahore Electric Supply Corporation (LESCO) along with other distribution companies started the load shedding in Industrial zones for upto six hours.
Moreover, the load shedding in the residential areas have reached around 12 hours which caused great problems for the residents of the city.
