Separate road mishaps claim 6 lives; 7 injured


KARAK - Six persons were killed and seven others got seriously injured in two separate road accidents here on Sunday.
Police sources informed that in the first incident five persons, a young girl among them, were killed and four other sustained critical injuries. The sources added that a truck (P 3049 Peshawar) was going to Bannu and a passenger coach (K5810 Peshawar) was going from Bannu to Peshawar collided head-on near Jatta Ismael Khel on Bannu-Kohat road in the jurisdiction of Banda Daud Shah police station and three persons killed on the spot in the accident and six other sustained critical injuries. Two persons were killed on the way to hospital before getting any medical treatment. The dead bodies and the injured were immediately shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Banda Daud Shah by the local people and police from where all the injured were referred to Kohat and Peshawar in very precarious conditions. The died persons have been identified as Muhammad Wali son of Muhammad Rahim, resident of Nizam Bazaar Bannu, Muhammad Ghani, son of Naib Khan, resident of Sorani Bannu and her seven years old daughter Laiba, Sartaj Ahmad son of Ghulam Akbar resident of Lodhi Dera Ghazi Khan and Fazal Ghani son of Maulvi Gul Faraz resident of Bannu. The injured have also been identified as Noor Saeed and his brother Abdul Saeed sons of Haji Saeed Khan residents of Bannu, Sabir Rehman son of Rozi Rehman resident of district Dir and Khalid son of Saeed Nawaz resident of Bannu. In another road accident one person was killed and three other seriously injured on Indus highway near Wardak Banda in the limitations of Banda Daud Shah police station. Police sources informed that a truck (C 9850) and a passenger bus (Z 6382) going in opposite directions collided and one person was died on the spot and three other seriously injured. The killed one has been identified as Asad resident of Peshawar and names of the three injured persons could not ascertained instantly. All the injured persons have been shifted to Lachi district Kohat hospital for treatment.
