RAWALPINDI - Haris Sohail (55*) and Shoaib Malik (62*) with a 119 runs unbeaten stand for the third wicket guided  Sialkot Stallions to an eight wickets victory against Karachi Dolphins in the final of the Faysal Bank Super Eight Twenty20 Cup here at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Imran Nazir played a brisk knock of 41 of 20 balls laced with six boundaries and two sixes laid foundation for Sialkot to achieve the target comfortably. Haris Sohail slammed six boundaries and two sixes in his knock of 55 not out while Shoaib Malik cracked seven boundaries in his unbeaten knock of 62.  Faraz was the only successful bowler from who got one wicket.

Earlier opting to bat first, Karachi Dolphins made 168 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Dolphins started their innings well but after the departure of Shahzeb Hassan they failed to keep momentum and lost their wicket at regular intervals.

Only Khalid Latif played sensible cricket and made 81 not out laced with seven boundaries and three sixes. Asad Shafiq made 38 laced with two four and one six.

Late four wickets burst of Raza Hassan changed the tempo of the game and match tilted in favour of Sialkot Stallions. At one stage when Khalid Latif and Asad Shafiq were at the create it felt that Karachi Dolphins will succeeded in scoring around 200 runs but last two overs of his speed snatched match from Karachi Dolphins. Raza Hassan took four wickets for 33 runs while Umaid and Rana Naved got one wicket each.

Meanwhile, crowd faced the wrath of security forces including brutal baton-charge despite having entry tickets to the ground to witness the final of Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Cup on Sunday.

Senior Sports Journalists were also not allowed entry in the stadium and also treated indecently. When the journalists sought the PCB officials help, they denied help and said as this is security personnel job and not our. The journalists were restricted to media box only, where the insufficient arrangements badly hampered their professional duties.

Sailkot Satllions received cash prize of Rs 2.5 million along with the trophy, Shoaib Malik was declared man of the match. Karachi Dolphins earn runners up trophy and cash prize of Rs 1 million.
