LAHORE – The Civil Aviation Authority Director Airport Services Headquarters has directed the airport managers and relevant agencies to improve passenger handling with better services to overseas Pakistanis, especially the labour class working in Middle East and Gulf. 

Following the apex court directives, the director airport services chaired the meeting at Allama Iqbal Airport to review the present situation and take measures to facilitate passengers.

Director level officers from all the agencies including FIA, OPF, Customs, ASF, ANF, Airlines including PIA, Shaheen Air, Air Blue, representatives of International Airlines and Airport Managers of International Airports, JIAP Karachi, BBIAP Islamabad, BKIAP Peshawar, Quetta and Multan attended the meeting.

Issues relating to handling of passengers on Gulf and Middle East routes were discussed at length. It was emphasised the labour force should be assisted on arrivals and departures by the concerned agencies and language at airports should be Urdu in addition to English for the convenience of passengers.

The director advised all airport managers to take steps for making airports passenger friendly.
