MARDAN - Police have traced the name of another suicide bomber who blew himself up in Katlong Bazaar on the last Friday, officials in Police Department told TheNation on Monday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan Tahir Ayuab Khan said that police had traced the name of other suicide bomber who blew himself up in Katlong Bazaar.

He said that the second suicide bomber name was Saleem Khan and he belonged to Lundkhwar. 

He said during the Saturday’s suicide attempt one suicide bomber entered into the house of Ahmed Ali where he blew himself up.

He said that when police was collecting evidence from the mentioned house, they found a National Identity Card from the spot which confirmed the identity of the suicide bomber as his name was Fazl-e-Subhan son of Fazal-e-Kareem, resident of Skandari Koroona Hoti Mardan.

He said that later on police raided the house and recovered one hand grenade, Klasankov rifle, 30 bore pistol, prima card two feet, safety fuse 10 centimetres, 15 bullets of 30 bore pistol and nine bullet of 7.62 bore and a motorbike. He said both suicide bombers were wanted by the Mardan Police in different cases of terrorism.

He said that the suicide bombers were also involved in blowing up schools in the district and in incident of Duranabad Chowk on Mardan-Swabi Road in the limits of Jabbar Police Station in which head constable Aslam Gul, resident of Lundkhwar and constable Amjid Khan, resident of Katlong were killed.

DPO further said that both suicide bombers were high profile terrorists and wanted by police.

He said that search operation and further investigation were under way in this connection.
