30-day 17 roads carpeting project launched

MULTAN - The Punjab Government has launched a project worth Rs170 million for the carpeting of 17 roads of Multan and the project will be accomplished in 30 days. This was disclosed by DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal while kicking off carpeting work fo Ghaus ul Azam Road here on Monday.
The roads being carpeted include MDA to Lodhi Colony, Abdali Road to Cardiology Institute, Tariq Road, Altumash Road, Rajwana Road, City Hospital Road, Pir Khursheed Colony Road, Water Works Road, Fish Market Road, Hafiz Jamal Road, Nishat Road, Ghanta Ghar to Hussain Agahi Road, Bohar Gate to Haram Gate Road and Central Jail Road.
Talking to the journalists on this occasion, the DCO added that he would not allow anyone to spoil millions of rupees from national kitty on patch work and rather beautiful new carpeted roads would be laid. He said that beautiful green belts were also being established along major city roads and all out resources were being utilized for the beautification of the city.  He disclosed that the tenders for construction of roads linking Multan with other cities had been publicized and work would begin within one vmonth. He further revealed that contract for construction of 8-km long first phase of Multan-Shujabad Express Way had been granted.
