Foreign teams confirm participation in PISF baseball

LAHORE - Five foreign teams namely India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Tunisia and Iraq have confirmed their participation in the baseball tournament of the Punjab International Sports Festival (PISF) 2014.
The grand baseball event is likely to be played in the second week of this month. The members of national baseball team are flexing their muscles at the training camp underway here at the University of Central Punjab (UCP).
The Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) coaches are conducting morning and evening training sessions daily to make their players fully prepared for the tough International contests. All the sports federations and associations have paced up their preparations for the Punjab International Sports Festival. Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) has already announced its preliminary squad for the upcoming notable event.
PFB secretary Syed Khawar Shah has expressed his determination to repeat the Asia Cup performance in the upcoming competition by leading the country to another glory. "Pakistan players are in good spirits and are quite confident of offering their best possible performance in the mega event," he asserted.
"We will not take the contest with any team lightly, and that's why we are preparing our players under the supervision of highly-qualified coaches in two sessions daily," he added. Praising the effort of the Punjab International sports Festival, Khawar stated: "It's a very useful development on part of the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and it will also play a great role in polishing the skills of Pakistan baseball players besides providing a chance to Pakistan sports fans to watch International sports activity."
