ISLAMABAD- Supreme Court (SC) has been moved for disbandment of present set up of Council for Islamic Ideology (CII) and formation of new council comprising leading Ulema.

Barrister Zafar Ullah has filed petition in SC taking the grounds that CII has moved away from its responsibilities and is creating ambiguity in the people. Therefore, the council be abolished and a new council be formed comprising leading Ulema, he prayed. It may be mentioned that Sindh Assembly has already adopted resolution against CII.
