Schools are institutions which impart education and train our children to face challenges; they also learn morality and ethics from there. The main idea of a school should not be to teach children how to achieve monetary benefits, but to understand the importance of ethics and adherence to law, without taking any short cuts in life. It was quite the opposite in a girl’s school in Karachi, which trumpeted huge successes in Global Kangaroo Mathematics contest, they won by cheating, the teachers helped the students to cheat. The school has been in the limelight recently for all the wrong reasons, including extended timings, objectionable material in syllabus etc but this one is absolutely below the belt. The worst is not that the foreign institutions find this out, but that the students take this as a norm and apply it in their daily lives.
