ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked “ Shahbaz Sharif is fond of coming in the court and he will have to come here if he is called".

Case pertaining to regularisation of work charge employees of Punjab government came up for hearing before Supreme Court (SC) Monday.

An interesting conversation took place between CJP and Additional Advocate General (AAG) Police Asma Hamid. AAG told the court that the appointments made during 2012 were illegal. CJP inquired the appointments were made under whose orders?

Asma Hamid told the court that the appointments were made under the orders of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab.

CJP remarked as to why notice should not be issued to Shahbaz Sharif. Government is declaring as illegal the appointments made by its own CM.

Giving the job to the people on work charge basis by the government departments is a joke with the law. The appointments made were based on mala-fide intent apparently.

Asma Hamid said to CJP “ such words should not be put into my account.

CJP remarked “ CM will have to come if he is summoned. Shahbaz Sharif is too very fond of appearing in the court.

The court rejected the appeal plea of provincial government against the regularisation of work charge employees.
